January 2026 Newsletter
Hello Mama!
New Year, new...us...? Not quite!
January often comes with a lot of pressure — resolutions, expectations and fresh starts. At FarmHer to Mama, we’re keeping it simple. We don’t believe everything magically resets on January 1, but we do believe in the power of community to carry us forward and get us off on the right foot!
But hear this - winter is THE hardest time to start big, new resolutions. The days are short, energy is low, and let’s be honest — getting out of bed some mornings can feel like a full-on Olympic event. Just like nature, this season is a time for rest and quiet work. Beneath the frost, roots are growing and strengthening, preparing for the burst of life that comes with spring. Similarly, small actions, ideas, and habits we nurture now — even if they aren’t immediately visible — will grow stronger and shoot forward when the time is right. Think of it as the slow-cooked approach to growth. If you feel like you’re behind or haven’t hit the new year running, relax... you’re right where you’re supposed to be.
This season is also a reminder of the nourishment around us: storage crops, fall apples, winter squash, and hearty greens — foods grown to last through the colder months and keep us fueled. And yes — these are exactly the kinds of goodies you’ll find in this month’s boxes, ready to inspire meals that are comforting, satisfying, and seasonally available.
As we step into 2026, we’re grateful to continue this work alongside you — one box, one meal, one month at a time.

Foodie Tips
Sourdough English Muffins - Oh. My. Fluffy Deliciousness. We have a new producer, Clutch Bagels and these muffins are out of this world. Have I ever really thought about an English Muffin and said “mmm I want that”?...no, I have not. But these English Muffins had all of our mouths watering with just butter and jam. Be sure to check out the recipes this month for a unique breakfast idea.
Oyster Mushrooms - Oyster mushrooms are meaty and delicious. How do we have mushrooms year round in our neck of the woods? Thanks to indoor growing practices, Windy City Mushrooms produces delicious fungi goods and distributes them all over the Midwest. When the days are dark and not much is growing, it’s nice to have some options outside the normal fare.
Bratwurst - Pork grown with integrity, care and love by the all - women team Tia and Tori! The pigs are pasture raised, free to graze and roam over woods and acreage, and these ladies do it right and deliciously. Whether you choose to have a straight up sausage or you cut it up for a sandwich with your English Muffins, we know you’ll enjoy these. And for our moms that don’t eat pork, no worries as you will receive a pork substitute.
