Food Justice for All.
Focusing on the land, food and agriculture sectors, the NWI Food Council seeks to co-create a climate action plan for our seven-county region in Northwest Indiana. This plan willcomplement our strategic plan and build capacity to directly to collaborate with new andexisting partners around climate action. The plan will center equity, environmental justice, and community voices as cornerstones of a successful climate action plan.
Focus Areas
Food
Increase access and consumption of local, regeneratively grown foods.
Farming
Increase regenerative agriculture practices.
Water & Land Use
Improve water access, quality and infrastructure. Improve land access for small/specialty crop farmers.
