April 2026 Newsletter
Hello Mama!
Spring always feels like a fresh start — a time to breathe deeper, move a little more, and reconnect with nourishing food, nature, and each other.
Here at FarmHer to Mama Headquarters we are especially excited because we get to share with you two upcoming events that we hope you’re able to take part in.
Speaking of breathing deeper, we have partnered with Mindful Meditation Teacher Certification Program to bring you a virtual series Planting Seeds of Calm. You will learn simple ways to navigate through the stressors of life through guided meditation.
You can read more about it and RSVP on page 3! Come and chill out with us!!
Next up is our annual Mother’s Day Celebration on May 13th!!
If this will be your first time joining us, this is our way of celebrating YOU! and it’s a special day to relax, connect, and enjoy the beauty of our on-site farm. The afternoon will include:
A tasty lunch
Farm tours and time to explore the land
A relaxing sound bath and guided meditation
Time for conversation, laughter, and community
Whether it’s your first visit to the farm or you’ve been here before, we hope this day feels like a moment to slow down, be cared for, and celebrate the strength and resilience of motherhood. Please be sure to check out this RSVP link!
We can’t wait to share these special events with you.

Spring Foraging in NWI: Nature’s Tiny Helpers
Spring is finally bursting into life in Northwest Indiana, and with it comes a buffet of wild, free, nutrient-packed greens—often hiding in plain sight in our yards, parks, and fields. Always be sure to wash well before consuming!
Here are some easy-to-identify edible or medicinal “weeds” to look out for this season:
Chickweed
A soft, tiny green that’s perfect for salads, pesto, or a gentle tea. Think of it as nature’s “spring cleaning” gift, helping to refresh your body after the long winter of heavier foods.
Dandelion (leaves & flowers)
Bright yellow and packed with vitamins A, C, and K. Leaves are slightly bitter, great in salads or sautéed, and flowers make a floral tea or fritter. Dandelions support liver and digestion health.
Wild Onion / Ramps
Look for thin green shoots with a garlicky aroma. Both leaves and bulbs are edible and make a wonderful spring flavor boost in soups, eggs, or sautés. They support digestion and circulation.
Join our FarmHer to Mama Facebook Group for support, recipes, tips, & community.
