More About The Hoosier Young Farmers Coalition
The Hoosier Young Farmers Coalition was founded in 2016 by a group of sustainable and organic beginning farmers and allies in Indiana looking for more connection and camaraderie among beginning farmers in our state. We provide a network where young, beginning, sustainable farmers across Indiana can easily find each other. Farmer mixers, small scale farm tours, conference scholarships, and policy advocacy on behalf of sustainable and organic agriculture are all ways in which we are building the young and beginning farmer network in our state.
This screening of the Up Up Farm Film Festival is part of a series of 9 film events that are our way of introducing ourselves to the state. We have received generous funding from Purdue University and SARE (Sustainable Agricultural Research and Education) that make this series possible, and we have partnered with geographically diverse farms and groups to cover as much of the state as possible!
The Hoosier Young Farmers Coalition is a chapter of the National Young Farmers Coalition. The NYFC was founded by and for a new generation of farmers in the United States. We work in coalition with farmers, consumers, organizations, and government to tackle the many challenges that young, independent, and sustainable farmers face in their first years operating a farm business.
